Wild Horses Dramatic Communication

Wild horses have distinctive ways of communicating. They are often dramatic interactions that only last briefly but are full of pawing, squeals, rearing and chasing.  This interaction was a brief conversation stating, "Keep away from my mares". When planning this painting, I considered the negative shapes, and freely used brushwork to express the action and movement of the horses energy.
